"Maine Squeeze" Scrapbook Page featuring U-Paint Metal Crafts

Disclosure: I am a member of the U-Paint Metal Crafts design team. I received free products in exchange for my designs. This post also contains affiliate links; I receive a small percentage of sales through those links.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am now a member of the U-Paint Metal Crafts Creative Team! I am so excited to show y'all just how cool and versatile these metal embellishments are. For my first project, I decided to go back to my first crafting love -- scrapbooking!

Last year, my husband and I took a cruise to New England and Canada, so when I saw the U-Paint Metal Crafts lobster, I knew it would be the perfect embellishment for my scrapbook page of our arrival in Maine.

Even though the U-Paint metal pieces are 3-dimensional, they are lightweight enough that they can easily be used on a scrapbook page. I adhered mine to the page using foam adhesive dots!

Materials needed:
Denatured alcohol
Paper towels
Paint brush
Nautical-themed scrapbook paper (I used the "By The Sea" Collection from My Mind's Eye and "Stateside: Maine" paper from Echo Park)

How to:
  1. Start by cleaning your metal piece with denatured alcohol and a paper towel. The denatured alcohol removes any oils, grease, and metal dust. This is important so that the paint will adhere to the metal.

  1. Paint lobster with red enamel paint and allow to dry fully.

  1. Create your scrapbook page using nautical-themed patterned paper and embellishments.
  2. Attach the lobster to the finished page using foam adhesive dots. I had to stack a couple of dots together under the lobster (since it is dimensional and not flat to the page).

This little lobster adds such fun and dimension to the page without adding lots of weight!

Thanks so much for checking out my latest project! Be sure to look for U-Paint products online (you can find them here at Amazon) and in your local craft stores. And come over to our Facebook page where you can see all of the design team's projects!
